Veneers are used over durable wood products such as medium density fiberboard MDF and particle board, made of renewable resources. MDF and particle board are used in quality furniture for areas that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. Amazon Customer: beautifully designed and quality workmanship

I fell in love with this dresser months ago and finally ordered it. Delivery was great and timely. Because of the virus they were unable to put it in place but they put it on our porch as it was raining that day. It is a beautiful piece of furniture and is made very well. My only complaint is upon close inspection within 2-3 feet it does not look like real wood. It looks more like molded plastic. I was very disappointed in this and had no way of knowing it would have that appearance from the description and pictures. Had I seen it in person, I'm not sure I would have purchased it. It took me a bit of time to decide to keep it for that reason....but the quality and beauty of it from a few feet away convinced me I would enjoy it anyway. I love it in my room and how nicely the drawers work, etc. I do wish it looked like real wood, not veneer or molded, thus the 4 rating. At least there's no chance of damage to the surface and it may never qualify as a family heirloom piece but it does have wow factor when you enter the room.
