They might be on to something hereMy 14 year old pit mix has malignant melanoma. Due to his age, the location of the cancer and on the advice of our vet, we decided not to put him through an extensive surgery and difficult recovery. She told us he would have about 4 to 6 weeks and to just make them the best we can for him. After some research on home remedies, I found out that hemp oil and certain mushrooms may actually slow the progression of the cancer cells and keep them from spreading to the rest of the body. I don t know if it s true or not but that was 6 months ago. We have been giving him one of these twice daily with his meals. He won t eat it like a treat but he will if we mix it into his food. They crumble nicely. To be fair we also put him on a low carb, grain free diet to reduce the amount of carbs converted to sugar, which in turn feed the cancer cells. Also, he is a rescue and has been through a lot but he is one tough cookie unless you need to clip his nails . Not claiming this is a miracle or a cure but I really feel like it has helped slow things down and give us all a little more time. We also notice a significant decrease in his activity level and mood on the days when we inadvertently forget to give it to him. Which reminds me, I need to order more...
